renegade-metal-polishing-compound
Renegade Metal Polishing Compound

Renegade Metal Polishing Compound Bars for Aluminum and Stainless Brightwork

Renegade compound bars are what make an Airway Buffing Wheel cut, color and finish. Coarser bars remove scratches and finer bars bring up the shine, so metal polishing shops run a progression of them. For aluminum, Brown Tripoli (T-88) is the first cutting step on the Orange wheel and is not used on stainless, while Green Rogue (G-16) is the second step on the Yellow wheel for a clean shine. For a show finish, Blueberry Ultra (blue rouge) and Competition Purple pair with a White Flannel wheel. Many polishers stop at the two-step process and save the show compounds for their most cherished pieces, and owners can follow the same steps on rails, tanks and wheels.

Why Pros Use It

Brown Tripoli (T-88): initial cut on aluminum with the Orange wheel; not for stainless

Green Rogue (G-16): second step on aluminum with the Yellow wheel

Blueberry Ultra and Competition Purple: show-finish compounds for the White Flannel wheel

Also available: Yellow Deluxe

Built to work with Renegade Airway Buffing Wheels

How to Use

Load the spinning wheel lightly with the matching compound

Cut with Tripoli on the Orange wheel, then color with Green Rogue on the Yellow wheel

Finish with blue or purple on a White Flannel wheel when you want a show shine; rake the wheel when compound builds up

Shop at Marine Detail Supply Charleston

Charleston yards and metal polishers use the same compound progression on pontoon logs, T-tops, rails and tow-rig brightwork.
